Orthopaedic oncology is a rare subspecialty of orthopaedics that manages patients with sarcoma and other musculoskeletal tumours. Two centres in New Zealand (Christchurch and Auckland) coordinate and care for these rare conditions. Josh is one of two orthopaedic specialists in the Christchurch Sarcoma Multidisciplinary Team, which manages patients from around the South Island and Wellington.

This subspecialty encompasses a wide variety of conditions often managed with multidisciplinary care. Josh is on the boards of The Sarcoma Foundation of New Zealand and The Sarcoma Society of New Zealand and is chair of the Sarcoma Guidelines working group.

The Sarcoma Foundation of New Zealand provides an extensive online resource for patients and their families. It is free for anyone to access at www.sarcoma.org.nz.

General Orthopaedics

As an experienced orthopaedic surgeon who remains an active member of the Christchurch Acute Service, Josh has a breadth of experience in general orthopaedic conditions and procedures. Knee arthroscopy, carpal tunnel surgery, and metalware revision/removal are among the procedures Josh offers.
